Jogja

19 dan 20-11-20

1. Children refugee from various TGKI Jogja posts on Friday 19-11-10 was taken to Taman Pintar and on Saturday 20-11-10 to Gembira Loka zoo, all trip are free for refugees. The children and their mothers were very pleased to be entertained.

2. Friday and Saturday in Adisucipto post there were psychology counselling from Berbah clinic and IAIN.

3. TGKI Jogja distributed donation in the form of rehabilitation tools for the refugees in the refugee camp and for those who had returned to their homes. Some of the tools are donated by the BOPKRI alumni who visited the TGKI Jogja’s refugee camp.

4. TGKI Jogja distributed logistics donated by the Korean Presbyterian Church everyday in which they also helped in distributing the aid to these refugee posts: Adisucipto, Prambanan Dengok, Tlogo Tani Godean, Turi Ngaglik Sleman and various other posts.

5. Items being distributed are:

a. rice 1-2 ton,

b. oil 1250 litre,

c. sugar, snacks,

d. instant noodles 100 cartons,

e. mats, carpets.

6. TGKI Jogja accompanied the refugees coming home to their homes in Cangkringan.

7. TGKI Jogja prepared the team designated to clean the people’s houses.

8. TGKI Jogja had prepared team and tools, but on Friday and Saturday morning all acces to the mountain were closed due to Merapi’s volcanic activities. The dispatched team returned to the command post and the plan to clean the people’s houses is postponed till Monday.

9. Pelayanan kesehatan TGKI Jogja ke Desa Turgo dan dusun-dusun di sekitarnya.

10. From Thursday until Saturday TGKI Jogja who accompanied the refugees coming home surveyed about how to make shelters.

11. TGKI Jogja tended to various groups of refugees that swarmed into the main command post. They are helped, however, after a survey had been conducted.

12. In order to respond to the situation properly, TGKI Jogja expanded its networking.

13. The gathering with the refugees are held every Friday nights, enabling an earnest dialogue as well as convincing them to become volunteers for TGKI Jogja to help their fellow refugees.

Mentawai

1) Small quake followed with minor tsunami happened in Betimonga Sipora Utara.

2) TGKI Mentawai is advised to live with the rest of the refugees in the refugee camp.

3) TGKI Mentawai dorm in Tuapejat is converted into a refugee camp.

4) TGKI Mentawai dorm in Tuapejat is still safe because it’s far from the sea and located in a hill.

5) TGKI Mentawai dorm had been utilized as a refugee camp since the quake-tsunami in Sikakap due to the lack of tents in other places.
