Mentawai

10/11/10

1) the 2^nd Team GKI Mentawai continued what had been done by the 1^st Team GKI Mentawai in the village of Dusun Eru Parabuan and Dusun Maonai, the isolated region not yet receiveing any aid.

2) Team GKI Mentawai this time brought aid in the form of:

a. Baby foods,

b. Soap

c. Tooth paste

d. Tooth paste

e. Soap

f. Detergents

g. Matches

h. Biskuit

i. Salt

3) Aside from that TGKI accompanied and facilitated the emergency team from GKI Kebayoran Baru in Dusun Besua Girau, Eru Paraboat and Maonai to held health services.

4) The 2^nd Tim GKI Mentawai consists of:

5) The command post of Team GKI Mentawai was built in Dusun Berkat Baru, Desa Sikakap, Pagai Selatan, Mentawai.

6) Two days ago, 8/11/10 Team GKI Mentawai was received by the vice governor of West Sumatra, Mr. H.Muslim Kasim. In the afternoon tea session with the vice governor there was a warm communication.

7) The vice governor send his warm regards for the leader to Team GKI and expressed his gratitude for the service given by TGKI since 2007.

8) Yesterday, 9/11/10, with the help of the vice governor and Dandim 0319, Mentawai Lt. Col. Yosafat Duka, Team GKI headed to Sikakap, Kep. Mentawai.

9) 10/11/10, Team GKI after arriving in Sikakap directly consolidated internally to study the things that had been done. The previous team had mapped the needs and continual service plans.

10) Team GKI Mentawai also visited, talked with, and coordinated with the command posts of Gereja Kristen Protestan Mentawai (GKPM), government officials, TNI, the police force, BNPB, NGOs and Hizbut Tahir Indonesia in order to create a synergy to help the tsunami victims in Mentawai.

11) Team GKI Mentawai used Handy Talky (HT) as a mean of local communication to ease the communications.

12) Team GKI Mentawai held a trauma healing and medical services in Dusun Bukku Monga, Desa Taikako, Kecamatan Sikakap, where 64 patients were served.

13) The evening prayer meeting was filled with evaluation and evening reflection by Daniel Gultom with the bible reading from Mat. 22 : 34 - 40. (Yusak Ismanto)

Jogja

10/11/10

1) The UKRIDA doctor team travelled by land and will be assigned for approximately a week are:

2) Team GKI Jogja still give free health services for 90 patients from various posts,

3) The distribution of nine basic needs is flowing still.,

4) Team GKI Jogja also scour a few area in Muntilan that is often left out.

5) The child service team in Wedi received an appreciation from UNICEF ergo the logo of team GKI is also put in their secretariat,

6) UNICEF requested a program for teenagers and women like what the GKI Team Jogja in Wedi and in GKI Adisucipto post.

7) Today there are still plenty of refugee mobilization from one place to another, due to the horrible situation and conditions.

8) The refugees sheltered in schools are being evicted because school is starting.

9) Team GKI Jogja is preparing the abandoned school building in Cik Ditiro Street to house the refugees, in order to anticipate the conditions mentioned earlier.

10) The Muntilan refugees starts to become restless due to the condition of severe dust.

11) Volunteer from Christ’s Church Abdiel Surabaya joined with TGKI Jogja this afternoon. They are allocated to specific posts due to their 3 day only program. (Paulus Lie).

Magelang

10/11/10

1) It has been around 2 weeks since Merapi spew its first eruption and maintain its status as the world’s most active volcano.

2) The beginning of the Merapi eruption was in 26^th of October 2010, in the morning after Merapi erupted, TGKI Magelang directly assessed the condition in the field, the next morning the result of the assessment was followed by a concrete action.

3) For the Help directly given in the field, TGKI Magelang cooperates with the Citra Kasih Foundation Magelang and Satlak of Dukun district.

4) For the purpose of relief flow, TGKI was helped by 30 volunteers, in which the activities of the volunteers are:
- Field Assesment
- Distributing aid in the field

5) Data of refugees

a. In Sewukan 180 toddlers, children above the age of 5 and adults 765 people.

b. In Dukun 90 toddlers, children above the age of 5 and adults 421.

c. In Banyubiru 276 toddlers children above the age of 5 and adults 1021 people.

6) In Krinjing village, Sumber and Argomulyo each recieved

a. 150 packets of snack and

b. 150 bottles of ‘Aqua’

7) Health check ups was done in:
- Sewukan refugee camp
- Sawangan 1 refugee camp
- Sawangan 2 refugee camp
