Magelang

12/11/10

1) TGKI Magelang had distributed 1700 packets of rice and fruits from Satuday up to Friday 12/11/10 to refugee camps and hospitals.

2) TGKI Magelang temporary stopped the communal kitchen. The women returned to their homes after a week tending to the refugees.

3) The food supply for the refugees in Magelang is proper enough, even abundant sometimes, because of the flow of relief coming from many donor groups.

4) TGKI Magelang rejuvenated themselves first, while doing some sort of entertainment for the refugees, especially with a layar tancap (outdoor screen for movie night). (Eka Setiawan)

Jogja

12/11/10

1) TGKI Jogja participated in the Doa Bersama Tokoh Agama Lintas-iman in Gelanggang Olahraga Sleman, along with 1587 refugees.

2) The leader of TGKI Jogja was requested to lead a prayer as well.

3) This week the number of volunteers from TGKI Jogja involved reached 130-150 volunteers per day; 40 Sunday school teachers, 7 doctors, 8 pharmacists , 25 cooking ladies, etc.

4) The number of refugees tended reached 7.500-10.000 people. 6.000 was fully registered with the names of recipients, the rest was anonymous because the relief was channelled through their coordinators. (Paulus Lie)

Mentawai

12/11/10

1) Raining all day, but it didn’t diminish the spirit of the TGKI Mentawai volunteers.

2) TGKI Mentawai conducted healthcare services in Dusun Pinatektek, Desa Sikakap, Kecamatan Sikakap. 119 patients were tended.

3) TGKI Mentawai facilitated the laying down of the 1^st stone as the symbol of the building of the orphan shelter for children who lost their parents due to tsunami.

4) The orphanage will be managed by GKPM so that the Christian faith is nurtured.

5) The laying of first stone was done by the Ephorus of GKPM, Rev. P. Simanjuntak,S.Th , Vice district leader of Mentawai, Mr. Yudas Sabagalet, Dandim 0319 Mentawai, Lt.Col. Kav. Josafat Duka, coordinator TGKI Mentawai, Jusak I. Indrawan.

6) Mass graves of tsunami victims are located in:

a. Dusun Muntei Baru-baru, Desa Betumonga, Kecamatan Saumanganya (Pagai utara pantai barat)

b. Dusun Sabeu Gunggung, Desa Betumonga, Kecamatan Saumanganya (Pagai utara pantai barat)

c. Dusun Eru Paraboat, Desa Malakkopa, Kecamatan Malakkopa (Pagai Selatan pantai barat)

d. Dusun Purourogat, Desa Malakkopa, Kecamatan Malakkopa (Pagai Selatan pantai barat)

e. Dusun Maonai, Desa Bulasat, Kecamatan Malakkopa (Pagai Selatan pantai barat).

7) TGKI Mentawai found out that the depth of the mass grave is only 50cm. therefore the smell of rotting corpses is severely disturbing, and also can become the source of various disease for the people living near the mass grave.

8) With the permission from the district leader of Mentawai, TGKI Mentawai fixed the mass grave along with Kodim 0319 Mentawai.

9) For the purpose of fixing the grave, TGKI Mentawai bought:

a. 500 sacks of cement,

b. 150 rebar 10’

c. 50 rebar 8’

d. 50 kg Benrat wires.

10) Evening prayer meeting is filled with evaluation and reflection by dr. Viera with the reading from 1Kor 12: 1-11. (Yusak Ismanto)
